PopBridge Creative Arts is a pop up creative studio anywhere you need a sprinkle of artistic fun & exploration! For special events, festivals, team-building, professional development and alternative learning groups, we can create personalized multi-arts experiences designed for various ages, interests & abilities. Choose to integrate into an educational setting, strengthen social and emotional growth through collaboration or explore therapeutic arts processes for improved well-being. For anyone two years old to 102 who wants joyful, creative, hands-on fun, come connect with us on the little red bridge!
Authentic art-making experiences are open-ended, use different materials and are multi-modal, meaning they take more than one kind of action to complete. And they're beautiful and fun! And a little messy. (Embrace the mess...we're all washable. It'll be okay, we promise.)
"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play IS serious learning." Mr. Fred Rogers (the undisputed Hero of Child Development and Cardigans) understood this and we do, too! Dance, sing, play make-believe, dream, build, invent, run, scoop and splash. And then you should let your kiddos try it, too.
In the PopBridge world of creative learning, Dd is for Degas' dancers. And drums. And dinosaurs. Why not be a Degas dancing dinosaur with a drum and every time we see the letter Dd or hear its sound we roar and stomp and bang our drums? We call this "sticky learning" because it's embodied, engaging and memorable by tapping into the many entry points of cognitive connection. Our students just call it "fun".
I'm Meghan Nance and I'm a local arts educator, program director, consultant and projects manager specializing in arts-integration and I'm passionate about creative brain play! Since 2008 I've worked with students, learners and artists from all ages and educational settings at the busy intersection of the arts, childhood development, brain science and diverse learning.
My many years of creative endeavors in Charlotte have led me to working in local TV news, becoming a preschool teacher & serving as an arts-integrated preschool director and finally starting my own company. Currently, my side gigs include being the art teacher at Emerald School of Excellence (the area’s only recovery high school for teens with substance use disorder) and serving from time to time on the education team at Blumenthal Performing Arts (we brought the popular Immersive Van Gogh exhibit to life through tours & art workshops!). With PopBridge, I'm dabbling in the local festival circuit as a creative partner with Charlotte SHOUT!, the Charlotte International Arts Festival, and the Charlotte Ideas Festival. I deeply believe in the power of the arts, book club, bubbles and glitter! Yeah, I said it.
